Dave estimated between 800 to 1,000 people attended the fair and he made a guess that 50 per cent of them were not of our faith. Six out of 20 booths were run by non-members, as well as 23 FOOF's (Friends of other Faiths) manning various booths. One example was the first aid information table headed by Shelba Durston from the Lodi First Ward, and manned by nursing students from Delta College offering free glucose tests and blood pressure readings. Here are some pictures from the fair.

We had excellent newspaper coverage arranged by Adelle Barrette. Here are the pre-event and post-event stories in the Lodi News-Sentinel. Valrie Jensen submitted a story to the Galt Herald.

Ann Kerr designed a flyer that was hand delivered to some of the more prominent churches in Lodi. She took a publicity picture of the Jeff Stewart family updating their 72-hour kits which was sent to The Stockton Record and "Cultural Hall" a new web site sponsored by Sacramento Public Affairs.

We in Public Affairs have been encouraged to use the Internet in a variety of ways to get word out about the Church, so we were pleased to learn that Lodi Second Ward member, Scott Campbell, used facebook to tell his friends about the Preparedness Fair. He received replies back from about 100 of them, 40 of whom said they would be able to come to the fair. Thanks Scott, for helping to make our job easier. We invite all of you who are reading this to think of ways you personally can use the Internet to publicize the Church.
There are two "groups" on Facebook that you may be interested in joining. One is "Lodi Stake" and the other is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." It's the fastest way to get the latest information from the Church.
