Sometimes we get a surprise from the Lodi News-Sentinel--they want to publish a story that has never even crossed our minds. Ross Farrow did a story on the Movie "2012," which depicts an ancient Mayan belief that the world will end in three years with all sorts of natural disasters taking place. He wanted to know if the various churches thought the end would come in 2012 and if we were recommending that our congregations see the movie.
President Cook gave our answer: "The church takes no position on when the world will end; we believe this date is known only by God. We look forward to the return of Jesus Christ, and we focus on the glorious events that will be ushered in by His return. The church will make no recommendations to members regarding the viewing of the movie."
