Elder Ballard & Pres. Uchtdorf to Attend Inaugural

We usually don't include general church news in our blog, but I was so excited to read that Elder Ballard and Pres. Uchtdorf will represent the LDS Church at inaugural events for President-elect Barack Obama. They will attend the swearing-in ceremony Jan. 20 and the National Prayer Service at Washington's National Cathedral on Jan. 21.
President Monson said, "We send our best wishes to President-elect Obama and pray for the blessings of a loving Father in Heaven to be upon him and his administration."
Elder Ballard is over Public Affairs in the Church and is always such a great example of how we should fulfill our callings in PA on a stake basis.

Followup: Pres. Uchtdoft and Elder Ballard stand inside the Washington National Cathedral. President Uchtdorf said that he had noted that President Obama had a strong family and that is a good example for the country. Elder Ballard said that President Obama's call to people to assume responsibility was an important message. “We all have a responsibility to help this great nation recover.”
